Girls Do Comics

What an unforgettable day! For the first time ever, over 50 Bangladeshi female comics artists came together for a groundbreaking workshop — revealing a vibrant community of women visual storytellers that many never knew existed. The room buzzed with energy, laughter, and creative chaos as artists drew, pitched ideas, and shared their stories. Each sketch told a piece of their world — bold, honest, and full of heart. It was incredible to see so many unique styles and voices connecting through art. Hours flew by in a blur of inspiration. The turnout went far beyond expectations, and the enthusiasm was contagious — proving that Bangladeshi women in comics are a force to be seen and celebrated.  Many participants called it “a day of discovery and sisterhood.” And for those who couldn’t join — don’t worry! An online follow-up session is coming soon. Huge thanks to everyone who made this historic gathering possible. Organized by EMK Center and Adhunika Foundation — and powered by the incredible creativity of women who draw, dream, and dare.

Draw Create Collaborate

Cartoon People, in collaboration with the EMK Center, organized an exciting four-day experimental art workshop designed to spark creativity in young minds. Throughout the program, children explored the fundamentals of drawing and self-expression through playful and hands-on activities. Day 1: Studying from photo references, learning shapes, and enjoying a fun drawing game. Day 2: Observing and sketching real-life models to understand form and expression. Day 3: Turning everyday objects into imaginative character designs and exploring colors. Day 4: Craft-making with mixed media, transforming character designs into crafts, followed by a joyful parents’ session and closing celebration. This workshop encouraged curiosity, experimentation, and artistic confidence — nurturing the next generation of young creators.
