Cartoons For Equality: Top 200 Selection

Cartoon People presents Cartoons for Equality — a national  competition and exhibition aimed at raising awareness and inspiring action to prevent Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). Organized in partnership with UN Women, Bonhishikha, and Maa er Doa Studio, with support from the Government of Canada, this online gallery features the Top 200 cartoons selected from hundreds of submissions across Bangladesh. Through sharp wit, empathy, and powerful storytelling, these single-image cartoons and comic strips reveal how women and girls experience violence in everyday spaces — at home, in workplaces and schools, in public, and in digital spaces. This exhibition is part of a larger festival where cartoon becomes advocacy — amplifying voices, challenging stereotypes, and inspiring social change. Join us from October 30 to November 8,2025 at the National Art Gallery, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, where cartoons, games, murals, and installations come together to celebrate empowerment and equality.

Fight Against Corona: Cartoon Exhibition

To raise awareness about COVID-19, Cartoon People invites cartoonists, illustrators, and artists across the country to participate in the “Fight Against Corona” cartoon contest. The cartoons created through this challenge are shared nationwide and made freely available to local and international media outlets and organizations, helping spread important awareness messages about the virus.

Deshi charecter design challenge

DCDC, by Cartoon People, is a Character Design Challenge for artists, born in 2017 from the need for local characters in the Bangladeshi cartoon scene. Each year, DCDC hosts a couple of character challenges with homegrown reference photos and creative prompts to inspire artists. It encourages the use of local references and nurtures the practice of creating authentic, locally-rooted characters. Through this, we aim to inspire a new wave of local characters in comic books and animated feature films.

Gaan-Toon Caricature Challenge

Caricature is a powerful tool for cartoonists, and to practice this art, Cartoon People hosts Celebrity Caricature Challenges from time to time. The Gan-toon Caricature Challenge, part of our regular celebrity caricature contest, features popular Bangladeshi singers. It invites artists to creatively reinterpret well-known musicians, adding fun, humor, and a local flavor to the art of caricature.
